I Have Been ' Blocked '

It's one thing to block a person - fine, you can't cope with a differing of opinion, and instead of defending your beliefs you'd rather just make the person go away. I get it.

But to then start posting things about that person; about how they're a troll, to be avoided - now that's not playing fair.

I'm certain I'm not the first person this has happened to - it doesn't frustrate me that I was blocked, but to slander me after doing so is really a low blow.

Especially since I didn't once resort to personal ad hominem attacks, and stayed completely on topic. Does this frustrate anyone else?

I was blocked by a christian when I posed an awkward question he couldn't answer. A friend tells me he is now claiming I blocked him to avoid answering his questions - which I couldn't see because he blocked me! :)

I just see people like this living in their sad, sad, lives where the only escape and only authority in their lives is to join forums and block people 'the feeling of power must be immense' :P
Meanwhile us ordinary folk just drop on here to wile away some time whilst having a drink, listening to some music and waiting for our other halves to get out of the shower :D
Yes, I totally agree. I don't think the admins should allow people to post "questions" that target posters by username and ridicule them. I don't like that they're lax about that. And I don't have much respect for the people who do that. Block someone, or accept that you've been blocked, and then go on about your business like an adult.

@bijouxbroussard: You're absolutely right. But like NigelDoes said, I guess it's part of the turf. Just felt like venting though, y'know?
@TheOrdinaryGuy: I get it, but one can vent about being blocked or trolled. It's the folks who go to the trouble of posting a "question" specifically to trash an individual, whom I really resent. It's a form of bullying, imo. I've been on the tail end of that, too, and it's a drag, assuming that these are not little children.

Yes. I block those who deliberately and publicly trash others. It's so unnecessary.

How do you know if someone is posting about you if you've been blocked from seeing their posts?
But I agree. It's lame. Akin to being a 'tattle-tale' on the playground.

@Ynotisay: Well, I'm assuming they mistakenly unblocked me, which allowed me to see for just a moment all the crazy things they were saying. They realised pretty quickly their mistake.

And you're dead right - it's literally a child's form of retaliation.

A high five for not sharing their name.
Always good to walk the walk.
once a troll blocked me and was impersonating me on here.. name and photo and all posting bs crap.. its infuriating

@ZeroG: Wow - some people are legitimately crazy, aren't they. I guess this is the kind of thing you have to deal with on a public forum like this though.

@TheOrdinaryGuy: I've noticed this zeroG tonight, never have before, I guess it's a troll but I have it in hand ;)

@GeniUs: I think you're right. I've encountered her before.

It used to, but not any more. It's called the internet.

I just came across that post. It's cowardly to block a person for nothing more than having a different view but to throw shade on them afterwards is pathetic. It's reminiscent of the Experience Project with its contingent of blockers whose positions have crumbled under scrutiny. Anyhow to answer your question, yes it does.

<snip> blocking is as blocking does.

matter of fact, only time i was hugely blocked was by foes and friends alike when i admitted i was once an old school troll.

they're laughing..
