I Feel Guilty

Is it an obligation to love parents? This sounds mean...just even to think of it sounds mean.

They raise us, sacrifice their whole lives to build ours....break their backs working and suffering to support us...give us food and shelter...

Yet in their own wars, in their own frustrations and rages and fights, if they're crushing YOU since childhood...are you obliged to love them?

They beat you for making mistakes and then beat you harder for crying. Are you obliged to love them?

You were slow and clumsy and they made every point to mock you on that...are you supposed to love them?

They mocked you because you were always bullied and bullied you some more....are you supposed to love them?

They judged you every second of their lives...are you supposed to love them?

They killed you inside with daggers of hatred until you bled and hated yourself forever and never recovered...are you obliged to love them?

They told you you can't do shit every step of your life...are you obliged to love them?

They confused you then called you indecisive....are you obliged to love them?

They shattered your personality, and told you you're worthless and charmless afterwards...should you love them?

Should you love them when they repeated everything at home that your bullies always told you in school...college...uni?

Is it an obligation? I feel guilty and selfish for having mixed feelings for them.

Rant is over.

Well no love is earned and you would want to love them no one can make you love anyone. What parents do to raise you well that's their job you did not ask to be born so they have to raise you.

It sounds as if you have not had a good experience. That is so sad. I lost my parents before I was 18, so it upsets me to hear of your problems.
