I Find Psychology Interesting

Psychology is really flawed. It gives people excuses to vilify each other and themselves, it tries to label and put boxes around everyone and everything. It gives us excuses to sit still, or to be a jerk to people. But it also gives us tools for moving forward, and helping people. It's flawed - but I also think that it's one of the best things that we as a species have managed to come up with in the last few centuries. Psychology dares to tell us that we can have the life we want to have, and be the people we want to be. That we have the power to beat back and even defeat the things that knock us down again and again. It dares to tell us this, and then it gives us tools to make it happen. Psychology is about knowing ourselves - and "knowing" is power. So - I take psychology with a grain of salt, and walk the path carefully, but am nonetheless incredibly appreciative of the tools that psychology provides.
