As he [u][b]just[/b][/u] retired, I think it would be OK to at least reach out, the worst thing that could happen is he ignores you or tells you no can do!

Good question, you could alway reach out to him with a congratulations on retirement message and see how that goes.

I'd say if you're asking for info or advice, it should be fine. esp if you'd developed a rapport with the prof. if you're wanting someone to pull strings or use influence, then it wouldn't be.

@SW-User I guess what I need help with is paid internship for next semester. It is a graduation requirement and I am not going to wait until January to try and set something up. I visited his office many times to talk about my work, papers, essays, the club etc...Did things on weekends with the club etc..
