These are my sons dogs! Goblin the French bulldog, Frankie the deaf Dalmation, Otis the Weimerauner, and Faith the newest of the rescues. She is a beagle, and my son hasn't told me her story yet. (Correction! Story below!)
Goblin was adopted by my son when a guy at his work couldn't keep him. Not sure about Frankie's story, but she is deaf, and used to jump up on people all the time. She is slowly learning hand signals.
Otis belonged to my son's Uncle, and the Uncle passed away. His Aunt by marriage wanted to move to a small apartment, and couldn't take Otis with her, so my son gave Otis a home.
Faith is the little beagle, and HER rescue story is the best. Background story is that my son's sister-in-law, (who lives with my son and his wife), works for a veterinarian as an assistant. SHE was friends with a co-worker who fosters dogs.
It seems the dog fostering woman had a little beagle who had been adopted and returned THREE times!!!!
My son's wife took one look at that sweet little face on Faith's photo, and fell in love.
Unfortunately, the moment Faith got to her new home, her new doggie parents discovered that she was a VERY active dog!!
She was incredibly fortunate to find a new doggie Daddy, (my son), who not only has a very soft and wonderful heart, but also a lot of money!!!
The problems started when little Miss Faith was placed outside in my son's chain link fenced back yard. She promptly started to dig under the fence, and tunneled her way out so that she could chase a pesky squirrel!!!
My son did his research, and found out that there is a sturdy mesh that can be easily sunk into the ground at the base of the fence, so that even the most determined tunneler can not escape. Big bucks! He has a very large fence.
Unfortunately, Faith then learned to LEAP over the four foot fence...because, you know...squirrels...and her new Doggy Mommy also walked outside to see her WALKING up the fence, inserting her paws in the holes between the links.
My son and his wife live on a very busy road, and after the second or third time they found Faith sitting outside the fence gate, waiting to be let back in, they realized she was placing herself in danger and needed MORE control.
My son did his research AGAIN, and found a company out in Minnesota called Dog Control Solutions. He could NOT afford to replace his entire fence...but he COULD afford to buy a fence topper made of metal, which is CURVED inward at the top like the fences around prisons. The installer for their product, incredibly, was located in Hingham, Massachusetts...(not at all distant!)...and my son arranged the installation. It is now done. Little Faith is safe at last...after a HUGE cash outlay.
And the moral of this story is that God loves best those who have Faith!!! 🤣🤣🤣
