Well it looks grand for sure ,,, i find the same with drift wood ,, along the ocean ,,, but have found some nice stuff still good for walking and one that fits both left and right hand when in use ,,

@oldercanuck1 LOVE driftwood. If I had been rich, we found hundreds of driftwood tree stumps after a dam had been built up in Maine...if I could have hired a truck and a winch, they would have made the most beautiful filled resin coffee tables.

Wood carving by Mother nature herself?
4meAndyou · F
@Heartlander Yes and no. While camping, we noticed the forest service cutting out branches of a huge rhododendron bush. I selected a piece of wood that I thought might become a nice walking stick. As I carved it, I discovered dry rot. The carving then became a question of removing the parts of the wood that were "ill" and utilizing what was left in a beautiful way.

@4meAndyou Amazing how the dying parts enhanced its beauty and uniqueness, yet still made for a dependable walking stick :)

@Heartlander I never finished it. It is supposed to be shod and embellished.
