I Am On a Diet

Day 1 of intermittent fasting....after failing the 16:8 I am stepping down to a less intense 14:10....I am still really struggling. It is now almost 4 am and I am not tired at all because of how hungry I am. I'm fasting from 11 PM-1 pm. I just don't feel like I can do this.

You can do it! I've been intermittent fasting since June, and I love it. Have you read Delay, Don't Deny? The author gives great information and tips for how to do it. Fasting clean is key! I started at 14/10 then went to 16/8 then got to 18/6 fairly quickly. I switched to 20/4 for March, and now I'm doing a 4:3 protocol (feast four days, fast three days in an alternate-day pattern). Let me know how you're doing.

@ChampagneOnIce hey! I've been doing really good! Today is the first day in I think 3 or 4 weeks I didn't fast but it was my birthday :) I'm getting right back to it tomorrow. So far I have lost 6 lbs! I am sticking with 14:10 for now as it works for me and is not too torturous.

Unfortunately I am still very hungry at night but I've learned how to just deal with it. The thing that I struggle with about it now is that when I'm hungry I have trouble sleeping so my sleep schedule has become all messed up :/ Did you have that experience?

@Hush92 That’s great! Congratulations! When I have a daily window it’s an evening window, so I’m not hungry at night, and I’ve actually been sleeping better. My window is usually 4-8 pm or 5-9 pm. When do you eat? Also, I drink Natural Calm Unsweetened magnesium in warm water shortly before bed, and that helps. I did it initially to prevent leg cramps, and now it helps me sleep. I’m doing 4:3 now so I fast 39-40 hours then eat lunch and dinner.
