Yes, wisdom may come from experience but understanding the wisdom can be a whole either matter.
I had a real crappy childhood which turned into a horrible young adult's life. I saw what the experiences had done to me. I realized about what triggers are, how I can be so defensive and cocky. It was my coat of armor. We all wear some kind of coat of armor too. It brought a new light to human behavior.
We may feel/experience the same sorrows but react out in totally different manners!!!!!
Some of us express our feelings which is a good thing, healthy way to let go. Then there are some that beat dead horses, never letting go, holding tight to their hurt. Then there are others, passive aggressive, emotionally unavailable, that refuses, dislikes to speak of how they feel.
So.. I started to understand, acceptance began, I have more compassion for other's behavior. I understood their pain, might not their reaction.. but still... as they say.. we all are unique.
I can identify with a lot here. I'm most definitely grateful, but it takes us middle aged to find that wisdom. That's the sad part, every negative can be turned into a positive, but those wasted years. Then again, how else would we bloom?🌷🌟
I think maybe with me it was the opposite. With a good childhood I was naive and got manipulated by a narcissist as a young adult. But I did learn from the experience so I’m not quite as open but have gained understanding.
