You were supposed to be a successful person as you were the best student in high school

and then you end up as a failure and in your mid 30s. Does anyone relate?

Success only comes from going from failure to failure without losing heart. You just have to keep going until you get that one moment that changes it. But you must be able to spot the opportunity and take it, then put the work into it to achieve it as well.

@switchfoot the only person that can change anything in your life is you. You have got to embrace that as a start, then as many have said you have got to get out their and do it one piece at a time, until you get to where you want to be in life. My husband would tell you people miss opportunities because they come dressed in overalls and look like work. Further the only person that often gets in our way in achieving is ourselves.
I am similar age to you my husband is older by 15 years but we are self made and have now both gone into retirement work wise.
