Well at least you would know what you did to deserve it. Of course if the world was fair then you could take positive steps to avoid bad things happening to you which would in turn make the world a better place as everyone would be pleasant and kind to avoid unpleasant consequences and those who were unpleasant to others would get their just desserts.
