Some days I try to understand quantum entaglement or tax laws but today I am stuck on Fireman Sam

If;
Bob the Builder (B+B)
Postman Pat (P+P)

then WHY is it Fireman Sam?

Shouldn't it be Fireman Fred?

I need answers, it just doesn't make sense!

For the serious answer, the stories were first written in Welsh, where he is called Sam Tân. It's about the rhyme not the alliteration!

@Persephonee Thank You!!!!!

Fireman Sam is brilliant !

It began life as a few moralistic stories about being young; doing silly things and the consequences of that.

Then when the creators (two former Firefighters from London) went looking for an animator to bring the characters to life, the idea was mooted that if they changed one or two details it would sell better in Scotland and Wales and so attract potential backing from Scottish and Welsh television companies.

And it did ! Sam tan (Fireman Sam in Welsh)
was ultimately translated into 25 different languages; in 2014 Amazon picked it up and ‘Americanised’ the whole thing and created two cgi animated movies on the platform.

@Picklebobble2 I was always partial to Postman Pat growing up but Fireman Sam is pretty cool! Thanks for the info

Quantum entanglement is a quantum mechanical phenomenon in which the quantum states of two or more objects have to be described with reference to each other, even though the individual objects may be spatially separated.
Quantum entanglement is a complex phenomenon, but perhaps the simplest explanation, courtesy of Astronomy Magazine, is that quantum entanglement occurs “when two particles are inextricably linked together no matter their separation from one another. Although these entangled particles are not physically connected, they still are able to share information with each other instantaneously — seemingly breaking one of the most hard-and-fast rules of physics: that no information can be transmitted faster than the speed of light.” This the basis for the premise that quantum entanglement can enable communications faster than the speed of light. @EuphoricTurtle that doesnt make sense..forgets the plank constant

@gatorgirl20 That's the point, it contradicts a lot of what we hold as standard/ limits, such as the speed of light. And yet...
Two recent studies have confirmed that the "spooky action at a distance" that so upset Albert Einstein — the notion that two entangled particles separated by long distances can instantly affect each other — has been proven to work in a stunning array of different experimental setups.

One experiment closed two of the three loopholes in proofs of spooky action at a distance. Another found that quantum entanglement works over astonishingly large distances.

Overall, the new series of tests is simply confirming what physicists have long suspected.
@KA9ha All I want to say is that a number of those look like titles for porn flicks 😆

Tax law is simple compared to that breach of logic...
summersong · F
@EuphoricTurtle well kind of...I have a rudimentary understanding of payroll tax law in a handful of countries 😅
EuphoricTurtle · 41-45, M
@summersong Nope, too late to back out now. You are the chosen one.

@EuphoricTurtle that nicely sums up my entire working life 😂

No, he should be Fireman Frank 😂
EuphoricTurtle · 41-45, M
@SW-User Don't be silly, everyone knows Frank is reserved for Fisherman Frank 😉
