Would you ever stay in a relationship, knowing it’ll never work out in the future?

4meAndyou · F
Nope. As a matter of fact, when I realized that more than half my life was gone, and the misery I felt with the ex was never ending, I finally decided to take what was left of my time and make it more peaceful...and happier.
Konicha605 · 22-25, F
but let's be honest, nothing at all works in the future. It's not about never having problems, but solving them. it's this that makes the bond stronger

Uncertainty is present everywhere. You can't be in love when you can't be vulnerable.
Menetics · 26-30, F
@Beatbox34 well said.
CastorTroy · 31-35, M
I would go by whether or not it was working for me now. The future will take care of itself.
Rambler · M
I did and I eventually regretted it... probably not a good idea
I never have, but I don't recommend my approach.
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
A person must be really desperate to do that.

No it wouldn't be right. 😔
helenS · 36-40, F
I'm not made for long-term relationships, even if they "work out". After some time I always feel I need more space.
TheArbitrator · 36-40, M
@helenS So, you're like a leased vehicle? 😅
Menetics · 26-30, F
@helenS You can still have your space while being in a relationship.
helenS · 36-40, F
@Menetics It's always a question of how I feel about it, that's all.
SW-User
How does anyone know the actual future? I guess it would depend on the reasons you feel that way
Menetics · 26-30, F
@SW-User Let’s just say that this person doesn’t really make an effort to make the relationship work.
SW-User
@Menetics well in that case no, if they aren't willing to be your partner and try then no
fortycreek · M
i might be presently in that situation
lonelyloner · 31-35, F

hunkalove · 61-69, M
Depends on how cute her butt is.
Human1000 · M
Yes, for a limited time.
TheArbitrator · 36-40, M
I personally wouldn't because relationships are a forever investment to me but I can see the rationale some people have - it's the same as remaining on a job that will end one day in the future. Sometimes - it's not about the future; sometimes it's about the now.
Menetics · 26-30, F
@TheArbitrator I can be the same. It feels like it’s better to settle even if I’m not happy anymore than move on to another one.
TheArbitrator · 36-40, M
@Menetics I was in a similar situation once. If you don't think a relationship will work, I think it's better to move on and find someone who truly appreciates you. As long as you're in a relationship, you can't find that special someone who is out there waiting.
