I Deal With Depression

Hidden Inside

Lost in myself,
Unsure of these thoughts that keep creeping in,
Grasping at the crumbling wall,
Barely able to climb it,
Not sure if I'll ever get past it.

My body screaming out in a crowded room while I sit there smiling like a fool,
Feeling useless,
Worthless,
My brain holding me down with it's web of lies about who I am,
What people think,
What they really mean when they speak,
Oh don't blink,
Don't let the traitor tears gathering in these eyes fall,
Don't let them give up the person inside.

Let go of those words suffocating the person you failed to hide,
Let go of this hurt,
Let go of the painful words,
Hold firmly to the real person everyone deserves to hear.
