I Have Never Been In a Relationship

Friends giving relationship advice: "Just be yourself and someone will love you for who you are."

Me: *me, some ugly a$$ guy with zero self-esteem and confidence is himself*

Also friends: "Be confident. Confidence is sexy."

Another one:

Friends: "Just wait and be patient, the right person for you will come eventually."

Me: *waits for days, weeks, months, years*

Also friends: "Try dating apps."

Me: *tries dating apps, no success whatsoever*

Friends again: "We told you to just wait and be patient..."

Being confident or not is not who you are, that's where the hang up is. When you are told to be yourself they mean be things that are uniquely you, things that interest you. Nobody has a passion for confidence.
