I Got The Cane In School 6 Of The Best

Most canings were administered in the headteachers' studies where we were either caned singly or with our fellow offenders.

Occassionally a large group would be caned. This was usually when teachers had made a concerted effort to catch smokers or there was a crackdown of lateness, uniform violations or some other petty rule.

In those cases, all those due to receive a caning would be assembled in the gym or the school hall. A few teachers would administer the canings. The number of teachers varied with the number of us to be caned.

We were all, boys and girls, caned in front of each other and our ages ranged from 11 to 18.

When I was headmaster, I would generally punish a child in private. However, if children misbehaved together, they would be punished together in my office.

@Oldmanjimbo My Grammar School Headmaster always administered the cane in his study in Private. It was the same when I was disciplined by my Headmaster at Primary School.

@MAJFF I was caned by our headmistress, always in private with a chaperone,a form teacher or her secretary .

@MAJFF @sarahcs In my school, when a group of us were caught misbehaving together, we were taken into the office and caned together too. It tended to be mostly groups of smokers or boys and girls caught out of bounds together.

@Sharon My second six of the best was for being out of the bounds with four other boys letting off fireworks. We all got called up to the Headmaster at different points in the day. Unlucky for me I was in the gym, so got the six across my white gym shorts.

@MAJFF Some friends and I got the cane for setting off fireworks (IEDs would be a better description) at school. In our case we were all caned together.

@MrJMister There were about a dozen of us who played with those things. This particular incident involved three boys, another girl and I. We all got six of the best.

@MrJMister There were five in my case including myself. Hence why we were sent for at different times in the day for the cane.

@Sharon I bet it did sting .. quite a bit! Count your blessings that at least it wasn't knickers down!! Maybe would have been justified for 'planting' an 'IED' 😉

@MrJMister My friends and I were often slippered together at home (mine or theirs) and it was always knickers down then.

@Sharon The slipper with knickers down and bared bottom was the usual punishment for misbehaviour at home for you and your friends? Quite right too although as you were 'often slippered' it didn't discourage your naughty behaviour too much it seems. lol Who administered the slipperings? Over your Mums' knee I expect?

@MrJMister We were slippered by each others mums and dads, mostly mums though as they were more likely to be home. We usually had to bend over a chair for it.
