I Have a Fear

I really hate diving into pools or any type of water. I will be a lame person and just get in the water via stairs or some sort of ladder. In 9th grade we had swimming units in gym class. One of the things we learned was diving. You could either do a sitting dive on the side of the pool, use the blocks or if you were feeling brave the diving board.

I only did seated dives because the block and board scared me. Someone talked me into trying the block and I stupidly agreed. The pools deep end went to 11ft deep and when I jumped off the block I went straight down. I made it to the bottom of the pool and almost didn't come up. I was having a hard time coming back up to the surface, was running out of air and was freaking out. Fought like hell to get back up to the surface and that was the last time I ever jumped off any block or did any sort of diving.

No cannonballs for me.

I'm more afraid of driving over the bridge that takes me over the water than diving into it.

@Fungirlmmm bridges can be some scary stuff

@Neurotoxin There is a bridge I drive on in VA that actually goes under the water. It scares the doodoo out of me.

i almost drown a couple times, it taught me the importance of staying calm.

when you reduce your heart rate you use less O2 and can stay under for longer.
