I Describe My School Uniform

Girls at my school are now allowed to wear a school tie!

So now we can wear the same things as boys, although I like to wear a skirt rather than trousers.

But I will get a tie, even though I have less than a year left at school. It is gold, blue and grey and looks smart. It will brighten up my drab uniform.

I like you will still wear a skirt. And being allowed to wear a tie! I don't like wearing a tie although I got one. But if we don't wear a tie we have to wear blouses with the school logo on the collar! Our blouses are like boys shirts except the buttons are on the other side. I sometimes think girls' uniforms are just boys uniforms re jigged. I think girls uniforms are still an attempt to make us more masculine.

That's a shame. I look stupid in school trousers as the smallest size is too big for me and I need a belt. It is easier to adjust a skirt to make it fit me. I think about half the girls in my school wear skirts. It is good that we have the choice.

@TammieBear: We also can choose skirt or trousers. My Mam says that when she was at school they had just started to let girls wear trousers. And all the girls wore trou. But now we seem to have a mix of skirts and trou. Some girls always wear trou. Some always wear skirts. And some wear either. I mostly wear a skirt to school. But I wear trou sometimes.
