It's not common at all!! I know of only one school around me who had uniform in 6th form, and the girls definitely didn't have to where knee socks.

Not convinced. It's grammar/private schools if there is uniform at thaf age.

@MaryJo1996 Now 6th form is more or less compulsory, schools don't have to treat 6th formers like adults to encourage them to stay on. Instead, they're starting to impose stupid rules and junvenile uniforms on 6th formers.

@MaryJo1996 I believe they can leave if they have a job or they're going into further education elsewhere (e.g. college). Otherwise they have to stay at school until they are 18.

@Robynthebeautiful It's not unknown for girls to get pregnant so they can claim benefits. I expect some do it to try to get out of school too.
