Like fuck it does. That definitely wasn't true when I was at school.
If anything, school uniform causes misbehaviour. Schools in other European countries don't have uniforms. Their students tend to be both far better behaved and more studious.

It's not common at all!! I know of only one school around me who had uniform in 6th form, and the girls definitely didn't have to where knee socks.

@MaryJo1996 I believe they can leave if they have a job or they're going into further education elsewhere (e.g. college). Otherwise they have to stay at school until they are 18.

@Robynthebeautiful It's not unknown for girls to get pregnant so they can claim benefits. I expect some do it to try to get out of school too.
