I was raised on a dairy farm. Much of what the young lady demonstrates in the video is true, "BUT", as with most liberal ideologies ..... it's far from a fair portrayal.
There are millions of dairy cattle world wide, so it's not hard to find sickly cattle to photograph. I can tell you because I know, I watched tears run down my great grandfathers, my grandfathers, my fathers, and even my own cheeks at the loss of a fine dairy cow. They are not quite so inhumanely treated. The film doesn't show the all nighter trying to save a cow that has taken ill.
The cows in the video that are down, are not taken for slaughter.....no slaughter house takes animals that cannot walk under their own power....
When an animal is that sick, it is humanely dispatched and buried. That's the law.
Yes, some male calves are sold for veal, which is horrifically inhumane. Our farms did not, I've never touched it and will never. Most dairies do not raise veal........
Male calves are raised just like other beef cattle and frankly have a much desired meat at the 800 lb. range.
Yes the females are inseminated repeatedly to keep them producing milk....the calves are taken from the mother. The cows we have today produce far more milk than the calf could possible consume. Literally, the mother would suffer greatly from the overproduction of milk....
This is industrial meat and milk production....
No, it's not little calves playing the meadows.....
But it's not nearly as bad as portrayed in the video.
