I Support Homeschooling

There are too many issues with the public system - a lot stemming from teachers not being given the proper resources and having huge classes to teach. It's nearly impossible for a student to get proper one-on-one when they need it. There are a couple other personal reasons on my end for wanting to homeschool and I believe that the public school system is set up badly. Honestly, I'm not sure there is a good way to set up early learning that is feasible for most of the population.

Homeschooling is the best way to get them the education they deserve so I hope I'll be in a position I can provide that if/when I do decided to have children. I also hope to find a good homeschooling group that isn't religious. I'm sure I'll have more trouble with the latter than with the former.

Have you seen some of the feeble minded parents out there? Can you imagine if they alone taught their children? They'd be eating dog food out of tins beaten by shoes within ten years. Some parents will be good teachers, however I would suggest that most are not. That is why schools exist in the first place.

I'm going to homeschool my kids if the couple barriers that exist at the moment don't exist at that point.

I think homeschool would be better for some but I think a parent should have to take stringent tests and pass to be allowed to do it. It is no good a parent who doesn't understand algebra trying to teach simultaneous equations to their child.

Or just live somewhere with good homeschooling support and know how to use the internet. A couple Canadian provinces do it well. You don't just fall of the grid - you do have to check in with a school you're registered at.

Like my partner making enough money to support us. Can't homeschool kids that are starving. A shitty education and a full stomach is better than starving and being unable to focus on school work.

I have no knowledge of that, but I imagine it would still require an attentive parent who knows how to make their child work hard at learning as well.

Not for everyone but I certainly think I could do better for my kids and I support anyone who wants to do the same.

You must be under the impression I don't want public schools to exist.

No I thought you thought home schooling was/is better.

Ah, so you don't know how homeschooling systems are set up?

I meant I don't know how they work in other countries but my own.

That sounds more of a financial barrier than a couple barrier to me.

... couple as in multiple barriers.
Gumba1000 · M
Couple barriers?

Sorry I misunderstood.

No worries.
