I Am Sober

Well it has been one month since if decided to quit alcohol. Some days have been hard and other not so hard. I know that I still have a long road ahead of me but I feel better and look better. Taking it one day at a time and sometimes one minute at time.

Awesome!! I think any habit or ritual is hard to break, but throw in alcohol, and that makes it even harder. Don't forget to treat yourself! Maybe buy something special - just for you - with all the money you're going to save by not buying wine. I would suggest something in silk, but that's just me. You deserve it.
Sinnerwithaheart · 56-60, F
@Kerrigan That is a really good idea, silk sounds just right.

well done. i've never had a prob with booze, but i can say, its possible to have fun and deal with problems without the influence of booze. i'm pulling for you.

I quit alcohol over 30 years (except for a champagne toast at weddings). No regrets.

Good job!

@SW-User Good for you and thank you.

It is a hard battle and one day at a time is the only way you can do it. You are off to a great start.

They say that a small amount of wine daily is actually good for you as long as you keep it under control I have some whine in my fridge and I used to drink a shot a day for about a month now I might take a sip once a week but it can still become addictive so you keep on track and you'll be OK your doing the right thing keep it up girl
Vegasfor30 · 61-69, M
It's definitely one minute at a time some days. Congratulations on being sober for a month. I was sober for over 70 days and this weekend was my weak spot I went camping and I had beers. I feel like such a failure
Sinnerwithaheart · 56-60, F
@Vegasfor30 Don't let it get you down.

It can be done. Recovered for almost 20 years, I think what scared me most is the fact only 1 third of alcoholics will survive the condition.
