I Saw the Movie Toy Story

You know what is one major plot hole about this movie that no one ever talks about? If Buzz actually believed that he was the real Buzz Lightyear, why did he always go into inanimate toy mode whenever Andy or other humans were around? Especially with Sid! He had no qualms about flying down to "teach that boy a lesson" when he was about to blow up that toy in his backyard. When other toys were clearly in jeopardy at Sid's house, why didn't Buzz spring into action there? 🤔

He's simply acting in accordance with how he views the other natives on the planet acting. When he sees Woody and the others freeze he just assumes he should do the same for his own safety.

@Carver I like the plot hole in Toy Story 2 where you find out that Woody is an antique doll that has been around since like the 50's. Yet he seems to have zero recollection of anything in his existence prior to Andy. Every other toy in the story seems to know their past...some even traumatized by the fact their past owners gave them up.
