I Am Healing Myself And Changing
One thing I have discovered that is really harmfull to health is: REFINED SUGAR,it is now found in many processed and other foods, included tin foods. Sugar is added into practically everything we eat nowadays, even in bread and that "tasty" Mac Donald bun is packed with it.It is also added to all fruit juices and soft drinks by the spoonful and that is not counting all sweets, chocolates and other confectionery. We are having an epidemic of obesity at the moment and new diabetics are diagnosed every day at an alarming rate. People go on low fat diet hoping to control their weight, what they do not know or realise is the those "low fat "products are loaded with sugar to make them palatable and not only they will NOT make you lose one ounce of fat but they will likely add to it, they don't taste all that good anyway and cost money. A lot of those so called "diets" are gimmicks playing on the concern of overweight people and their feeling of despair and the only weight that they will lose will be in their wallets! Drug companies even put appetite suppressant pills on the market, when the best way to deal with being overweight and ALWAYS feeling hungry is to simply cut all added sugar out of your diet, because sugar is also an appetite stimulant and it is highly addictive.
When I started cutting all added sugar out of my diet I had incredible cravings for quite a while,I ate fruits to assuage those cravings and also a few dates and currents which are natural sugars, but it took me a long time to feel the cravings were going away. I now have lost over six kilos and I did not do away with butter, full cream milk, cheese, cream and yoghourt(unsweetened) occasionally I allow myself some pasta ,because I love it and one should indulge once in a while, but the one thing NOT to indulge into are treats containing added sugar because they will take you back to square one.
It took me quite a while to lose the weight but it is coming off slowly but SURELY.
My arthritis is so much more easier to handle, I actually walk without much difficulty now because of the weight loss whereas before, a walk could be agony.
When buying food always look at the sugar content. Avoid food that you know contain sugar, you will have to make a few sacrifices, yes, but it will be well worth it in the long run.
And ALWAYS look out for "hidden" sugar or sucrose in ALL manufactured foods.
