@aupairgirl the ones who defend me aren't getting paid for it and they don't go overseas to other countries in order to do so. I'm talking about professional soldiers, not the ones who were made to become soldiers unconditionally because of war in their countries.
@aupairgirl some countries need, others don't. Look, my country has an army but it's mostly made up of people who don't go there willingly. Actually anyone who is a male over 18 has to serve. The difference is that these ones have never killed anyone. And they're only soldiers for some months. In my opinion and army is only needed if the people in it don't get paid. That's when you know that there really wasn't any other choice.
I have to disagree. A killer is a killer even if one chooses to label him a soldier. Facts do exists, some of them are inconvenient.
There is plenty of objectivity to go around. But there is also cognitive dissonance and people shut down to statements that make them experience any form of guilt or inadequacies, even if misplaced. Because in lot of instances they do not know how to process it.
And unless they face that, people will continue to send soldiers abroad and murder civilians who had nothing to do with it.
Just like terrorists murder civilians that have nothing to do with what's happening in their home countries.
@Miram Some. And some not. Some are ruled by Geneva conventions and strict code & rules. There are Drs that have killed with impunity. Are all Drs than serial killers as well? Careful painting “people” with such a broad brush. This entire post is terribly over generalizing. I have not argued anyone here’s perspective. I don’t live where they live & haven’t seen their horrors brought by soldiers. Please don’t argue mine. ☮️
@Miram It always is. War has always been about money and strength. Calling all of a group of people “serial killers,” dehumanizes them, though. Oppression is much different than war, money or no. My people, Vikings, did horrible things. I won’t apologize for them, however, I truly hope that we can move past this aggression, lest we all die of it. ☮️
@hahaheheuhhaha Only the small dogs have to. The big dogs break the rules all the time. What would Iraq for instance do to the US for it? Stop trade? They'd destroy their own economy.
@JustGoneNow Most dehumanize themselves the minute they choose mass murder. If they don't, they are still humans to me.
Forgiving and forgetting are two different things. One must keep in mind that many people spend years trying to come back to ordinary life, the victims I mean, not revenging, only to face war once again. Which is basically what's happening today in North Africa. So naturally, they will be much less likely to give others another chance at peace. They will hold grudges because despite their suppressed pains, the oppressors want war again.
@Miram I agree, beautiful girl. It breaks my heart to think of what you’ve endured. I’ve no experience with that kind of ongoing horror. ☮️ The fact you see people as people, after everything, speaks to you. 🖤 I love you. 🤗
