I Am Tired of America

I am tired of Americans saying how Europeans should be grateful to them because America 'saved' our continent in both World Wars.
Woodrow Wilson decided American intervention in WWI only because in case of a German victory, American banks would never recover the huge loans given to British and French banks.
In WWII American joined war in Europe when German defeat seemed likely to happen, out of fear that the USSR could take over the continent.

America was just defending its interests. A legitimate stand, of course. But we Europeans have nothing to be thankful of.It was not a favour.

I don't have this view at all, and I apologize for those that have forced this view upon you..I view it as we were in this together...for the betterment of the world as a whole

Sounds good to me. We should stop helping people out and start putting America first. I'm all for that.

@NigelDoes: I have an opinion of you as a quite reasonable person based on your posts here and this comment made me upset. You may disagree with me, say I am wrong, but saying something is wrong with my brain sounds insulting.
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
@Cierzo: Sorry mate, I couldn't let that one go. All I am left with is that you must know very little about Donald Trump and his past. I don't feel bad that you feel insulted by my response.
Cierzo · M
@NigelDoes: I don't know many things about his past. I don't like him as a person either. But I like his political thought.
I get you Cierzo. Both WWI and II were hideous events. We all ended up in it together ... which worked out ... glad both did.

When there are mutual interests, mutual effort .... and a common victory ... it is only polite that we all celebrate.

Our mutual success, forever bonded us.

Being bonded, we all should welcome dialogue ... because we are better in harmony, than separate.

Me, being a self-identified deplorable, completely irredeemable and a loser ... who has been called incredible names here in the states ... I have no problem listening to Allies.

Because, we bonded

Agree totally with your words. Much better to be a deplorable than what this wretched society calls a winner
Echos that!
Oh geez. Get over it already 🙄

@Cierzo: Franco was a fascist. Brought into power by the help of Hitler.
Cierzo · M
@jimjim1969: Anyway have I said I support Franco?
jimjim1969 · M
@Cierzo: You really do have a slanted view of the world, you said we got into the war for the banks. Not true, Germany tried to get Mexico to start a war with us. We broke the German code That's why we went to war.
It's ok, when the Chinese attack us, it'll be your turn to saddle up and save the world...

@KingLyinHeart: Read the two first lines of my post again.
@Cierzo: are you trying to start a movement :?
Cierzo · M
@KingLyinHeart: I am not trying to start anything. I am tired of people saying I have no right to state my opinion on American elections. If America is interventionist, what happens there affects the world. I don't give a damn about elections in Japan, for instance. Japan is not an interventionist country

I can understand your position. Just don't call next time.
room101 · 51-55, M
@MasterLee: ungrateful????? there's the problem right there.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
Agreed
Cierzo · M
@MasterLee: It seems you did not understand my post at all.
sighmeupforthat · 46-50, M
we do?

i think you're making up crap because you hate americans.. which is all the peoples of the most part of the western hemisphere... you want to publicly tell them that?

sorry hon, we don't care enough, stop making pretend that we do.

bye.
Cierzo · M
I don't hate Americans. I hate interventionist America playing the world policeman.

In 1917, German Foreign Minister Arthur Zimmermann sent a telegram to Mexico suggesting that if the US should declare war on Germany, Mexico should declare war on the US In return, Mexico would get back the territory lost in the Mexican-American War (Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona). Unfortunately for Germany, the telegram was intercepted by the British and hurriedly given to the Americans. Although Mexico had no real intention of declaring war on the US, the publication of the letter further mobilized the American people against the Central Powers.

This and the sinking of Lusitania have been often stated as the official reasons, but there were bigger reasons underneath.
jimjim1969 · M
@Cierzo: Oh, and you know, what an idiot
MartinII · 70-79, M
Even if you were right about WWII, surely we should still be grateful.
Cierzo · M
You be if you want. I am not. Even if I deeply hate communism, I sometimes think it would have been better if the Soviets had marched till Portugal. I see East European societies are healthy and commonsensical, not infected by progressive crap like in Western Europe
Arrow17 · 46-50, F
Europe does not need to be grateful because of US. US did nothing usefull, more likely cause the root of terorisms such as taliban. Thank you for US supports jihadist at the first place so the world has problem with terorrists who are committing gang raped children and women around the world. Asshole!
Cierzo · M
I agree with you. And I am not American. Why asshole?
Arrow17 · 46-50, F
@Cierzo: The previous US government was asshole and including the jihadists.
Cierzo · M
@Arrow17: Understood and agreed.
