I Am a Libertarian

I've been a Libertarian for nearly close to a decade. Though I do lean a bit more on the conservative side on the spectrum, I strongly believe in little government as possible. I support anyone's rights to own a gun and put whatever they want in their body. I also believe that two legally aged adults can get married, no matter if they are a man and woman, man and man, or woman and woman. Government shouldn't prevent two people who love each other from getting married. Even though I don't believe in God or follow a religion, I'm strongly supportive for religious freedom. After all, it's freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion. Though, I do believe in a strong solid separation of church and state. History has shown us that the two have never mixed well. Honestly, people can be who they are without government being like a strict parent. That's my view. For those that think Libertarians are complete nutjobs, all I can say is "to each their own."

I understand the desire for very little government interference, but to be COMPLETELY free of it is not a good thing. It would very quickly escalate into lawlessness and chaos. I for one appreciate living in a city where codes are enforced, so that my neighbors can't just live like hoarders and give me roaches. I also appreciate the upkeep of roads and civic centers like schools, libraries, and hospitals. I believe the government should ONLY be concerned with making its citizens the best they can be as a populace- NOT trying to constantly prevent people from marrying their own genders, or demand that everyone be a Christian.

@DearAmbellina2113 I didn't say that we should have no government. Just a very limited one. Local governments (city and county based) can be helpful, but they can be just as harmful as both state and federal government. Few laws on city upkeep is fine, but sometimes on that key point, city government can be really bad on the aspect of what can or cannot be done. I've seen my hometown go through an expensive campaign for a weak slogan that no one in the city liked. Pretty much, a waste of taxpayer money that could've gone to something that could've been needed.

What is your view on the border? As a libertarian do you support an open border?

@sjones123 In a way, yes. Personally, I prefer more access points than what we currently have.
