I Am Not a Perfectionist

I am not nor have I ever been a perfectionist, I do believe I such a thing as "good enough". I think a home can be clean and neat without being pristine. I think a person can be dressed nice without being necessarily "stylish" or "fashionable". I believe people can be attractive without having "perfect" faces and bodies. I think one can be organized and still have a little bit of clutter. Perfection is a pipe dream, it's equivalent to "chasing rainbows" because the world is not perfect and neither are we. To seek perfection is to set one's hopes and expectations too high and that only leads to great disappointment and disillusion. Modern thinking refers to this as "settling" which is not good and/or just plain wrong... I prefer to think of it as open minded and mature.
