Because it says in Deuteronomy 14:22-26 that we are to give ten percent of our income to God so that way he can bless us financially. Because ten percent belongs to him. When you don't, you're robbing God from blessing you.

@Aquarius39 so if I didn't have a job, he wouldn't bless me financially?
You'd think an omnipotent God wouldn't "need" my money in order to " bless" me.
But I'm just thinking aloud. Not gonna go back and forth with anyone

@rosyhills If you don't have a job, then you don't have to worry about tithing. Because tithing comes from your income. When I was unemployed, I didn't give my tithes. But if you live on retirement or social security, then you have to give ten percent. That's what my parents do.

The blessing is not related to any amount you contribute to a congregation. The "Tithe," is the First 10% of your earnings.(God's by right) If you're not earning, you're not Tithing.

In my church toward the end of the mass they walk around with this thing and who ever wants throws in whatever they want. I don't. Many times
Half those pastors dont even believe in god, they just want money

You don't have to give anything. You give what you determine in your heart to give. And yeah, i can back that up.
