I Am British

I am. I am Welsh first. And British second. And European third. I hope we don’t really leave. Why can’t we have another referundum?
Nyloncapes · 61-69, M
Because we live in a democratic country ,and go with democracy, we had referendum, and voted to leave, can not keep having a referendum till the remainders get what they want
Hepsie · 22-25, F
We would manage. We are resourceful.. @Nyloncapes
Nyloncapes · 61-69, M
Lilifach, what are the views in Wales of mass immigration do they want it. And do you have high unemployment,
Hepsie · 22-25, F
We have a lot of Polish people. They are skillful and well accepted. We welcome people. @Nyloncapes

We should have another referendum. The polls show the public is in favour of holding another referendum and that 'remain' would be the likely outcome if we did. If we don't have a second referendum it will be due to conservative bias. Theresa May says she wishes to respect the people's wishes so she ought to respect current wishes. The conservatives have already said there will have to be a tax rise for the extra NHS funding she promised. That just goes to show what lies the Brexiteers were peddling during their campaign.

European policy protects workers and human rights - I'll gladly take that over British sovereignty!

@SW-User The guy on TV said it? It must be right then.
Hepsie · 22-25, F
When people voted they had no idea what it meant. I was too young to vote! They know now. People should be able to vote on the government’s exit plans. @fazer1k
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@Hepsie Yes, people should definitely get a vote on the exit plans. I hope we do get to vote.
firefall · 61-69, M
I agree, you should - the first one was so distorted by Farage & Johnsons lies :(
Hepsie · 22-25, F
My generation don’t want to leave. We like Europe. I would vote to join the Euro. We need an undivided Europe. The next generation has not heard about how Europe was. The neo Nazis. Who think nationalism is great. But we aint America. We are loads of little countries.
Hepsie · 22-25, F
Don’t be so stupid. This was so important. We voted. @Supesun
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@Hepsie Cameron was pro Europe and had been for a long time. He was never to the hard right of the party. He stepped down because he didn't want to lead the country through Brexit when he knew it was a mistake for Britain.

Had referendum democracy won, voted to leave , let's get on with it,

We will always be part of the European continent, just not the debauchery of the parliament. Despite it being a legal requirement the Parliment has not had an audit of its books since inception. There is no enforcement of its fines system, and its central executive is not elected. Hardly democratic. I won't go into its law making procedure which favour the two controlling countries France and Germany. Nor how it destroys member states like Greece and Italy instead of helping them in favour of new countries who haven't got a penny to scratch their arse with!

@fazer1k the key words are "the people have spoken"

@Hepsie I agree that devolved assemblies should have more powers in law making and tax raising revenues xx
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@Hepsie The figures I saw this morning suggested 65% remain, but that's a much bigger margin than the leave vote win.

Europe gave us our human rights and protects regular workers and the less well off. That is threatened as one of Theresa's goals is to end the jurisdiction of the European court. That's the control Theresa seeks.
Hepsie · 22-25, F
But they don’t. My country is an English colony. @SW-User
Supesun · 56-60, M
We voted to leave. So let’s leave. No 2nd referendum..... it’s not a best of 3
Nyloncapes · 61-69, M
Your right supesun, all these lords trying to stop Brexit are a disgrace , looking after there own interests and money they get from EU, they should have no say, as they have a conflict of interest
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@Nyloncapes That doesn't change the fact well be worse off when we leave the EU. It will no longer be cost effective for European businesses to have a UK base if import and export tariffs are reintroduced and the prices of all our goods will rise. The government's own reports demonstrate the likely cost increase per family Brexit will cause.
Nyloncapes · 61-69, M
Fazer1k, look at the millions of unemployment in the countries that are in the EU, and the state of there economies , EU and Brussels Nov doing a very good good , and the mess of the euro
Nyloncapes · 61-69, M
Lilifach, I have no problem with Wales wanting to leave UK, same as Scotland , honestly if Wales had a vote to leave UK , do you think the people would vote to leave, Scotland never
