True democracy is letting the people have their say - when something is about to happen, not based on a campaign of racism and lies that is now out of date.

@fazer1k please explain how the vote leave campaign was racist? And where's the proof we will lose jobs and prices will rise? When pressed on their claim Brexit will cost household's an extra £4,300 a year Camborne had no evidence to back up their claim. Vote leave won by over a million votes. That's democracy.

Remoaners will demand a re run and if the result was the same they would demand another re run and another until they get the result they want

We voted to leave and for once a government has listened to the electorate. Brexit is coming so get over it

@SW-User Because the campaign was run largely on the promise of preventing immigration from Europe. That really shouldn't need explaining. We know prices will rise because tariffs on goods will be reintroduced. Companies like Airbus are already threatening to remove the UK base elsewhere if we leave Europe - Airbus leaving alone threatens 14,000 jobs. Forecasts are just that - forecasts. You can't prove the forecast is wrong any more than I can prove it's right.

A hard brexit is unlikely and the government is just doing what it wants. If the government really listens to the electorate then it should be doing so now and honour a second vote request.

Brexit may well be coming but I very much doubt anything other than a soft brexit will last long.

@fazer1k that is the typical vote remain stance. Doom and gloom. The whole remain campaign was negative and never gave a positive reason to remain.

The truth is we are going into the unknown so the remoaners forecasts of job losses etc are just that. Forecasts. Just like the weathermen forecast sunshine tomorrow but it could be pissing down.

The referendum was 2 years ago and for 2 years the remoaners have demanded a re run because they can't accept what the majority voted in a democratic referendum.

@SW-User People voted without understanding the implications. Now they do the polls show another vote would be to remain. If most people do now want to remain we shouldn't be forced to leave. If you are so sure leaving is the right thing then you shouldn't object to a second vote as the result should be the same as before.

@fazer1k we all voted 2 years ago and the result was leave. Something the remoaners can't accept. We don't need a 2nd referendum.

Did Corbyn demand a 2nd general election last year because he didn't win?

@fazer1k laughable. If the result had gone the other way the vote leave camp would have accepted its what the people want and that would be it. No calls for a 2nd,3rd or 4th vote.

When people voted they had no idea what it meant. I was too young to vote! They know now. People should be able to vote on the government’s exit plans. @fazer1k
