I Am British

I am. I am Welsh first. And British second. And European third. I hope we don’t really leave. Why can’t we have another referundum?

@fazer1k the key words are "the people have spoken"

Do the words 51 per cent but now we know what we are voting for mean anything? @SW-User

@Hepsie 51% = a majority hun. The question on the ballot paper was "Do you wish the United Kingdom to remain in the European Union"

"Do you wish the United Kingdom to leave the European Union

51% chose the 2nd option. If a second referendum is held we cease to be a democracy

@SW-User The key words for me are 'the people are still speaking and many now realise what a mistake brexit would be'

@fazer1k so if England don't win the World Cup will you demand a rematch until they do?

In 1975 there was a referendum on remaining in the EEC and remain won. There were no demands of a second vote from the leave side they just accepted it. Its time the remoaners did the same

But were the people given the facts? This is where referenda fail. @Jenny94]

@SW-User Brexit has serious implications; it's not the same thing at all. Who wins the world cup doesn't affect people's daily lives in the same way brexit will. And there was never a vote as to what exactly brexit meant. The referendum was particularly vague in that regard. Plus, no one then knew what concessions Europe would offer (or not). That's why it is important for the people to have a say on any actual deal agreed, including abandoning brexit altogether if people decide the deal made would be worse for the country.

@fazer1k what does Theresa say "no deal is better than a bad deal" and Brexit means Brexit so the remoaners need to accept article 50 has been triggered and we're on our way to taking back control
Hepsie · 22-25, F
You are so right. No one knew. I think if we voted again it would be 80 per cent remain. @fazer1k

Control of what? Control of nothing! @SW-User @SW-User

@Hepsie control of our own laws and our own trade deals without interference from Brussels which in reality means Merkel and Macron

As I said earlier we are going into the unknown so let our politicians negotiate on our behalf and trust them to put our interests first xx

Control by London of Welsh affairs. How do we won? @SW-User
SW-User
@Hepsie I agree that devolved assemblies should have more powers in law making and tax raising revenues xx

@Hepsie The figures I saw this morning suggested 65% remain, but that's a much bigger margin than the leave vote win.

Europe gave us our human rights and protects regular workers and the less well off. That is threatened as one of Theresa's goals is to end the jurisdiction of the European court. That's the control Theresa seeks.

But they don’t. My country is an English colony. @SW-User
