I Have Learned A Valuable Lesson

It's not your obligation to listen to people's rants. Sometimes you need to be away from toxicity. It's okay to be happy. It's okay to choose yourself. You don't have to be guilty for limiting your time with them or choosing to cut contact. Set boundaries. It's okay.

You can help when you have the energy. You can listen when it won't feel like forcing yourself to hurt or to take a stab because you're worn down too. If you're feeling happy and they message you to rant, it's okay to ignore them or say no because you want to keep feeling positive about life. It's okay if you don't want to listen to them anymore. Choose you. You deserve to be chosen too.

People like coming to me. But these days, I am very much aware of the people I want to keep listening to. When I feel I've given enough and the ranting gets redundant, I too could decide that I don't want it anymore. It's not my job to solve their problems for them. I am important too.

Correct. Some people are what I call "black holes", and they are best avoided. They suck all the joy out of life, and they never stop.

@4meAndyou It would have to be you to make the choice to stop them then :)

@Casheyane No, that's not my problem. I just walk away. Avoid the hell out of them, knowing they will never, ever stop.

@4meAndyou Sounds like you had it worse. Hope you find happiness

@Casheyane I am quite happy. But I have known some real losers, including female friends, and I will never see them again.
