I Love Pepsi

Not sure why the Jenner comercial was banned.

What was the problem? What is the controversy?

Not trying to be rude, I really don't get it.
sighmeupforthat · 46-50, M
idiocy, people want to be angry about something.

and no, the excuse that it insulted the integrity of a group is crap!

pepsi may have a bad PR team but no... sorry, just change the channel.

and again NO bad parenting can't blame pepsi enough either. teach your children right and wrong.. don't leave it to pepsi.

I agree, that it is idiots.

Who was the offended group?
It used to be, if you don't like a commercial you don't buy the product.

Now its, if you don't like the commercial you bitch and moan until someone gives you free shit.

When - in the early 1800s? And what free stuff are you talking about?
TheSettingSunIsCrying · 22-25, M
My media teacher showed my class the video. To me i didnt find anyhing offensive about it. One girl said she was "disgusted" by it. I kinda laughed to myself theirs people crying over an ad being "offensive" when their are much larger problems in our world to be concerned about like idk world hunger or a war going on.

Victim culture .... hmmmm ???
UserNameSW · 46-50, M
@May16: all comercials are.
Like beer will make me the life of the party?
Only women with tampons have exciting lives?
Owneing the right detergent makes me smile when my kids come in the house covered in mud?
Soda pop will save polar bears?

Why was this comercial special ?
TheSettingSunIsCrying · 22-25, M
@UserName1234: i think the commercial was a fall guy for people needing something to hate on and call it racist or disgusting or whatever.
Goralski · 51-55, M
Everyone seems ta b sensitive nowadays

@UserName1234: the black labs matter animals .. they said it was makin fun of their movement
UserNameSW · 46-50, M
@Goralski: how was it related to BLM?
Goralski · 51-55, M
@UserName1234: it wasn't that's why it was retarded
Bean17 · 46-50, F
I think it was something about them making light of/discounting real protests/protesters.🤔🙄😜

@Bean17: I just watched the GMA spot. Still don't get it. People were offended because she was in the protest or because she stopped it?
Bean17 · 46-50, F
Idk I guess just all of it. Different things bothered different people and overall it got the reputation for being of poor taste in general. Social media snowball. But people get their panties in a wad over anything and everything these days (and when they do, social media is right there waiting to help it spread like wildfire). Personally, I think it was much ado about nothing..🙄@UserName1234:

I still havent found anything wrong with it
hlpflwthat · M
Hahaha - well let's test all this genius theory you're all offering.

Is the Pepsi commercial with Jenner still on the air?
UserNameSW · 46-50, M
@hlpflwthat: it was a ridiculous comercial. Not my favourite.
But i still don't get why people complained to Pepsi and broadcasts to have it removed.

Who was offended and why?
hlpflwthat · M
The decision to remove is 100% PepsiCo - no one else. Can't put this on broadcasters. The most common term I heard was 'tone deaf.' It didn't resonate with anyone.

It was a blunder from writing to casting. No one's favorite. Why do you need to identify and blame someone for having it removed?
UserNameSW · 46-50, M
@hlpflwthat: true. Pepsi created, distributed it, and pulled it. I get that.

They removed it at least in part because of the complaints they received and the complaints the broadcasters received.

I'm wondering why people complained.
I guess some people think it trivializes protest. I just saw it on Youtube for the first time, and I understand that the Youtube version doesn't use the original music, and it blocks out the message at the end so I couldn't read it. I'm still trying to find out what exactly people found offensive, too.
hlpflwthat · M
The preposterousness of a Kardashian/Jenner doing anything that isn't self-serving for starters.
UserNameSW · 46-50, M
@hlpflwthat: I'm sure she was well paid for it. Is the problem that she was paid?
@hlpflwthat: Admittedly that stretches one's credulity. Perhaps it's a case of "Right message, wrong messenger" ?
