I'm worried about my brother

My brother is 35 years old and he's had a pretty rough life (we both have). We grew up with a toxic mother who abused us verbally and physically for years. Our dad was an alcoholic who transitioned to pill addict.

My brother struggles to make it in the world with his mental health issues. He has severe depression. He is suicidal. He doesn't have a place to live- he just couch surfs because he's so afraid of being alone.

I have offered to let him move to a new city with me, so we can both get a fresh start and get on our feet. I have given him the number to a mental health facility that helps people based on income. I don't know what else to do for him. I'm worried but I can't make these choices FOR him- he has to do it himself.

Awww...you can only do what you can for people...you have to let them do what they have to do, however much it hurts....

I had similar issues with my eldest daughter who did binge drink.....she wouldn't take any advice from me...but when the doctor's told her that if she continued she'd only have less than a year to live, it bucked up her ideas. Thankfully.

Some people need to find their bottom before they can start the climb up...

Hugs for you.......hope your brother finds his way...
