The "good" news on the economy (jobs & wages) is bad news for the stock market as profits then would go down.

@SimplyTracie If jobs and wages go up then businesses may have to pay more to keep the employees they have in order to maintain. The less people that are around to hire then the higher the wages they have to pay. If wages go too high then it begins to cut into profits. If a company's profits fall then it drags down the stock prices. So a cycle begins, as some news will raise stock prices then other news brings them down. As long as the underlying economy stays strong, as it is now, then stock prices should climb.
