I lift heavy every 2nd day, but I do lighter stuff, cardio and some body weight exercises on some of the days in between.

@SW-User You do less weight, more reps? I don't lift very much. I'll do 12 on the first set, 10 on the next, and 8 on my last. I don't really have a reason for it.

@ArtyFischel On my main days, I do less reps of heavy weights. like 5 sets of five or 4 sets of 6. Fewer reps of a heavier weight helps you build strength quicker

@SW-User I want to build muscle, but not too much. I like being slim. I lift mostly because it feels good and gets the blood going.
