I Love Gardening and Nature
Should I let Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus) take over the back yard? We don't really love gardening--we tend to let the nature in our yard go its own way to a large degree. This Rose of Sharon came up wild many years ago and over time has developed into quite a large bush. We like it. But now I am starting to notice it has a few children in the yard. No doubt if we let this go, it will be a whole lot of Rose of Sharon. Seems to me there could be worse things to come up wild in our yard. And it beats mowing. But--I could use some advice from someone who knows more. Should we nip this in the bud before it's too late?
Also, we live in the midAtlantic region of the US--this is not a native plant.
