Indoor p e at school

I did indoor PE in bare feet at school from about the age of 8, wore plimsolls before that.

"Trainers" were yet to be invented, but serious athletes presumably had special footwear not yet imitated by the fashion / casual trade.

Boys did it in trainers, girls mainly in bare feet.

If I remember correctly it all depended on the particular activity.

We played football or basketball in PE classes so we wore trainers.

Plimsoles for me.I did not enjoy P.E.
