While the US still has a long way to go in equality I have seen very positive strides in recent years.
I have had the opportunity to travel to many other countries and many of those have made very small improvements and this will certainly restrict their ability to keep up with those that are more progressive .

We are improving slowly at least unmarried mothers are no longer treated like they used to be.Sadly in other countries,because of their religious views,progress will be slow to come.

I remember way back in the sixties when they were advertising for counselling for women who had emotional difficulties while pregnant,I distinctly remember the caveat :Married women only!

I was also starting to leave home during that time . It seems so criminal looking back.
