Another very good thought provoking post; thank you!
While the US still has a long way to go in equality I have seen very positive strides in recent years.
I have had the opportunity to travel to many other countries and many of those have made very small improvements and this will certainly restrict their ability to keep up with those that are more progressive .

I remember way back in the sixties when they were advertising for counselling for women who had emotional difficulties while pregnant,I distinctly remember the caveat :Married women only!

I was also starting to leave home during that time . It seems so criminal looking back.

I think I agree with your critique of what is going on as far as social justice movements and large over blown central gov't. Yes where and when will it change ? What do you think ? thanks for sharing your story.
