I Am Not Into Politics

But... I do wonder what it says about this site that so many of them on here seem to be Trump supporters! Or maybe, hopefully, there aren't that many they just shout louder than the rest with their constant hashing and re-hashing libelous claims and gross exaggerations of the truth...

A friend of a friend on FB, and American, said that America maybe deserves Trump. I said no one deserves him.. I guess I was thinking that even tho I can't help but agree that if America are stupid enough to vote for him they deserve all they get, I would NOT want to inflict the resulting suffering on the nice, sane, intelligent Americans that i know exist. But hey ho let's see what happens

One thing to do is examine your decision making paradigm. Why do you vote for a particular candidate?

Well now that is a GOOD point. Yes that seems reasonable.. for me, I wouldnt vote for anyone who tweets allegations of rape against another candidate.. that goes for any of them.. if Hilary has done the same I would have no respect for someone who behaves like an immature child.

@Adaydreambeliever: consider political beliefs, values and behavior.
Adaydreambeliever · 56-60, F
@HoraceGreenley: I do.. and that's what i am saying.. I truly don't understand how sane reasonining people think it's ok to hurl insults and behave badly just because they don't happen to support the other candidate..
HoraceGreenley · 61-69, M
@Adaydreambeliever: aside from that how do you pick a candidate?
Adaydreambeliever · 56-60, F
@HoraceGreenley: policies.. manifesto.. behaviour.. whether they behave in a way which indicates they would do a good job of representing the people.. I truly wouldnt support someone who engaged in dirty tricks campaigns of mud slinging.. that to me would suggest someone who had poor debating and reasoning skills and who would make a poor leader

@Adaydreambeliever: just looking at policy who do you identify with?
Adaydreambeliever · 56-60, F
@HoraceGreenley: ahh now that I couldnt say as i don't know the policy deals in depth.. I CAN say that the policy, if it is such to opt out of climate change responsibility would alone, even without the behaviour, make me not vote for Trump.. I only judge on what i see. i have no pre-agenda.
HoraceGreenley · 61-69, M
@Adaydreambeliever: so you mostly identify with liberal values and policy
Adaydreambeliever · 56-60, F
@HoraceGreenleyWas that a statement? An accusation? Or a question? I am afraid we don't use those terms in that way where I am from.. and we don't pit one against the other - we don't see things in black and white terms in that way and we don't all hate each other and think of those who disagree as the bad guy/oppositional.. A very belated reply as I didn't see this until now (that's a particular difficulty for me as I just don't have the time to follow up on old posts) s
