I Am a Student

One of my assignments is perceptions of childhood, so at the risk of causing debates, what would you say if someone asked you:
1. What is a child
2. What is childhood?

All perceptions welcome as they will all be different depending on personal experiences and understandings. 馃榾

Birth to 16 is a child I think.

The period of time where someone is looked after as a dependent, by parents, guardians or other older people. It's kind of a matter of perspective though maybe?

@Starsandfire yeah it does change in perspectives. Not to disagree with you, but you are still considered a legal dependent until you're 18 in some countries, and in a way aren't most people dependent on parents/ older friends and relatives in one way or another until well into adulthood, whether thats through financial support or emotional support? I know my brother is and he's 37, engaged and has 2 kids lol

@Skelepop666 maybe there isn't one concrete answer?
Skelepop66636-40, F
@Starsandfire yeah, even if there was it will probably change over time as society develops which is why my tutor keeps pushing for us to research different answers in as many ways as we can. I appreciate all input i get with this assignment 馃槉
