Am I the only one that doesn’t care for Barbie? [I Hate Barbie]

I prefer Bratz, Everly Ever After and Monster High Dolls better. Barbie didn’t have a lot of diversity back then. Always blond hair and blue eyes. I am glad to see more diversities and more different body shapes but still. What’s so great about Barbie?

Bratz were awesome Im glad MGA decided to re release them. I cant wait to pick up 21st anniversary Girls Nite Out dolls they're so cool 😎.

Barbie had lines with fashion brands like Juicy and Coach. They even had really cool collectables like DC and Marvel Comics! MyScene was awesome too but that's about it imho.

There's [i]nothing[/i] great about Barbie.
In fact, she represents an insidious stereotyping of a youthful female image - one which has been seen to do psychological damage to young girls, including contributing to eating disorders and depression.

The doll represents an exaggerated version of a fashion - how a young woman "should" look.
It's designed to condition young women to identify with issues of fashion and appearances.
The purpose is 100% commercial.
When those young women grow to adulthood they are more likely to feel insecure about their "imperfect" bodies, and this become hooked on fashions, cosmetics and countless other products.

@hartfire Well being thin isn’t bad but they make Barbie look very skinny and yeah....my dad didn’t like me playing with Barbie because Barbie is sendings negative messages to young girls on how to have the “perfect” body and girls are starving themselves to get skinny and it isn’t healthy. He said girls are GOING to have curves and they should embrace their bodies because nobody has the perfect bodies. My dad said be healthy not skinny because people like having meat on their bones.

@hartfire I am blessed. I love my daddy but he doesn’t understand a girls view. He never will. What girl wants to be fat? I’ve always been a fat girl of my life and I wanna be slimmer. Not skinny slimmer. There’s a difference. I mean yes most girls have curves but not all of them. I am very very curvy and I hate it so much. I don’t understand why everyone loves them, especially men.
