I Feel Like Giving Up

Just let me fade away.
People like me don't deserve endings, happy or otherwise. I can't do this anymore. I can't bear this burden any further. I am so tired, so cold... all alone in this world.
Just let me fade away. Let's put an end to this charade.

the thing is, you and i have this in common. we are tired...the fight has felt like merely a delaying action. slowing but never stopping the inevitable slide to defeat. we swear we cannot lift anymore yet we still grab that next person to toss them into the lifeboat. the water gets deeper and we get that whisper "when is my turn"?
but one more tear streaked face turns our way and we still reach out without thought.
call it nobility, call it a martyr complex.

it makes every day a blood red haze of exhaustion but just as you are there to help me..i am here to help you. we will fill the lifeboats whatever it costs and just hope we are remembered fondly.

But you'll keep going. Survival. When all you know is survival it becomes all we do. Thriving is what comes after surviving but often times,due to surviving much, thriving is frightening. Let yourself thrive instead of survive.
