A generation has now been born and grown to adulthood since I was a young adult myself, and yes, I think they're taller. When I visited my sister a few years ago one day a lot of my nephew's friends were around, and they were all 5cm taller than me at least!
Improvements in nutrition are part of the story; indeed, poor nutrition in parts of the country in the prewar era certainly resulted in some underdeveloped adults. But also it may be the case that tallness is 'selected for'; put simply, they might have more offspring.
