How long will the “work from home” movement last ? [I Post]

Lots of companies adopting it, there’s huge economic and environmental benefits, but will it be productive? How will relationships change? Will it further divide the the office class (work from home) and production / service workers (must report to work)?

Means nothing to me. I can't work from home. Couldn't give a flying fcuk about corporate/admin people who can't hack going back to a proper structured workplace. poo poo

I operate very expensive equipment moving freight around. That (with any current technology) cannot be done remotely where the operating environment has so many uncapped variables.

Once those people are prepared to work shifts in a 24/7/365 rotating roster where no two fortnights have the same shift pattern, and work nights and lots of weekends, in all weather from below-freezing to swelteringly hot then we can talk.

Don't worry about the fact that humans can only exist in a very narrow temp band and absolute zero is -273.15 degrees C and steel starts to melt at about 1500 degrees C.

@zonavar68 that’s the thing, work from home furthers the divide ... and economically the office worker effectively gets a raise (eg, saves on transportation etc) whereas the Laborer gets no benefit at all

I think it would become optional because some people like going to office and certain jobs require people to be present physically . Others love working from home
