I don’t care if they’re celebrities or not. I hold them to the same standard as any other scientist. Do your job, follow the scientific method, and you’re good. When speaking in public, stick to your specialty—science. I don’t give a flying fuck about your political views.

@InkBot “Never” is a strong word. If their science is related to politics, such as a cure to Covid for example, then it may be warranted. But generally speaking, when a famous person is famous for specializing in something, they should stick to their expertise. Politicians should discuss politics, scientists should discuss science, musicians should make music, etc.
We’re all entitled to our own opinions, political or otherwise, but that doesn’t mean we should care or treat their opinions as valuable just because they’re famous.
