I Believe Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder

I believe beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and I realize some men like rubenesque women but that is not me. I am petite and every pound shows. The truth is, I don't want men to have to lift folds of fat to find my hot spots. I want to be a hand full and nothing more. I am solid and curvy, but not from being fat.

So I work out religiously. I love the burn. I love to sweat. I probably lift more than I should at my age but I can, so I do. I can deadlift about 110lbs and might be able to do more. I use 45 lbs weight bars for my military presses and clean and presses and I can leg press about 200 lbs.

I have always worked out even while pregnant but something recently scared me and i upped my ante. I always go to my high school reunions. A lady was standing next to me that I knew and had grown up with. She was dead 2 months later from brain cancer.

I don't know about genetics because my mom passed at 46, my dad at 47 and my paternal grandparents at 48. I am trying to keep the odds in my favor.

I was a weightlifter into my 20's. Thanks for giving me the incentive to go back.

@Heartlander for women it is a must. osteoporosis sets in and weight lifting helps bone mass!!

Yes, besides the bone mass it's also muscle and tendon strength and health that eases the deterioration of the joints. You don't need bulky muscles to be strong. To refresh my memory I just checked olympic records in weightlifting. For a clean and jerk for 125-128 pound woman the record is like 300+ pounds. Amazing!

Much more than even this ...
