I Hate Stupidity

In school, they stated that Communism and Socialism are related but not the same thing. We usually saw examples of communism (USSR, Vietnam, North Korea, Mao's China) but we were never shown examples of socialism, socialism with capitalism. This leaves you with an undertoned allusion that socialism always leads to communism, therefore, socialism is bad. I they should make it a point to hammer home that they are not the same thing and that socialism isn't inherently evil because it's relationship to communism. Especially in this country because many people see those words as equivalent, demonizing anything to do with socialism.

Socialism goes against everything in the free market capitalism. The problem with socialism is human greed the only example of a form of socialism that works is in monastic community's such as monks and nuns where people choose a life of poverty

@dale74 So you don't want society to have roads, police, firemen, local parks? How would business work if you couldn't drive to stores because the roads weren't safe? Never quite understand how people don't understand this. Business doesn't exist in a vacuum.

We had all of this before taxes in the state I live there are several roads that we're built by and maintained by business these roads are better then most public roads we had all of this before taxes.

@dale74 Isn't the fact they going against each other a good thing? Capitalism, economy, and business are amoral things that had aren't held to any ethnical standard or accountability. And efficiency can come at the cost of people's well being and they'd wouldn't care because they don't need to.

A government with socialism takes social matters and the people who work into concideration and make laws holding businesses to an ethical standard and makes them accountable for failing to do so.

Capitalism in the free market economy have taken the standard of living in the world from us living his peasants to where are lowest of the low still normally have a TV a car and a cell phone so no it isn't an evil it is done more good for society than any politician any King has ever done unfortunately you've been brainwashed with socialism thinking it is the only way and no matter what I say will probably not change your mind

@dale74 No you didn't. No modern roads were built and maintained by businesses. Maybe they had goat paths back in the 1800's sponsored by local general stores ...

If you think this is true, please post some sources.

Warehouser builds roads and maintains them around their plants and Facilities so does Tyson Foods

@dale74 Public roads? Roads that everyday people are driving on? Or roads that are just used internally by their plant employees?

@dale74 So what you're saying is that it doesn't matter if the street your house on is a dirt track, so long as the factory's got nice tarmac outside? That's practical as all hell...

@dale74 I didn't say it was "evil" but wouldn't say free market by itself is a great thing on it's own. Look at workers during the industrial revolution. That's a free market without government restrictions and definitely without socialist implementation And that's probably the closest thing to pure capitalism the world has ever had ('cause everything's more on a spectrum then just plain capitalist or socialist or communist). That standard of living was raised after socialism programs were implemented.

Those businesses didn't just decide to be nice one day and not fire and replace you when you got sick, pregnant or hurt in their unsafe work area that they hold no accountability for. They have restrictions and are held up to standards. Sure, some businesses are exceptions but economy and business, at it's core, truly have no moral obligation to anyone. Therefore, amoral. (Without morals) Greed thrives in that type of environment and often takes over without socialist programs in place to keep it in check.

Also there are dozens of social programs in America already that nobody realizes is socialism at work. Some not as fully functioning and thriving as they could be but everyone'd be a lot worse without them.
